What is OverlayFS?

how does it work?

A description of how it works would be nice. For example, how inodes are used: if a file in lower layers is changed, does the change become visible in the upper layers? (it sees not?? because the inode changed???) misc non-obvious semantics ... 67.198.37.16 (talk) 00:49, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

BSD?

In the infobox, it says that OverlayFS also supports FreeBSD and NetBSD, but this assertion is uncited. I haven't been able to find any more information on FreeBSD support, using regular internet searches. Is this real? If so, there should be a cite. Gnebulon (talk) 10:56, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
