Russian disinformation?

I just noticed some information that I have never read or seen before. The references are all in Russian and written during the Soviet era when most things were redacted, censored or propagandized. − − − − I don't think these sources are very reliable. It now sounds as if the Soviets did quite well in Egypt when the truth is that they were probably humiliated and wished to hide this part of their history.

incorrect information

Why is Capt.Kamenev signed as KIA? Only four MiG-21 was lost this day and three pilots killed - Zhuravlev, Yurchenko and Jakovlev. No more. One MiG landed in reserve airstrip and returned to home base in next day, this is why some anecdotes about fifth jet start way in egyptian side. Asher Snir was hit by Yurchenko (who is Ivlev?). Complete crap

These cold war stories are not based on any evidences! All "facts" are gathered from Israeli sources and there are no other objective informations. The names of the "killed soviet pilots" are not proven anyway. Just a subjective article, there are NO objective sources from a neutral point of view or any Russian sources available. --Saiga 13:11, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Description of suggested change:

The timing under the section "Battle" must be wrong - Egypt time is BEHIND, not AHEAD, of Israel time. Therefore, if the battle started at 14:00 Israel time, this would have been 13:00 Egypt time, NOT 15:00 as the article says.

Partly done: Egypt and Israel in fact share the same time zone. It's impossible to access the cited source to check if it says anything about when the battle began in different time zones, so I've removed any mention of time zones for now. Day Creature (talk) 15:24, 9 April 2026 (UTC)
