Hi, this is my first article so don't be too harsh on me :) I added a little info about OpenNap and two links. One to the opennap sourceforge page and one to an interesting site with info about various p2p networks. I'll try to do my best and contribute as much as I can. exile.mind 14:12, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Me again. I just made a correction to the link. exile.mind 14:33, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect attributation of MyNapster client to this section

[edit]

MyNapster is not a napster compatible client despite its name its one of the early gnutella network clients, feel free to check the src yourself at srcforge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.144.189.230 (talk) 21:07, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

OpenNap networks were a huge community of joined servers, majority running OpenNAP but also SlavaNap was a popular alternative server software (not featured on wikipedia it seems).

Folks running networks such as WelcomeHome, Camelot, ZiggyNap, etc... disconnected networks, but with clients such as TekNap, WinMx, or even the old Napigator + Napster setup folk would wander the various clusters of servers for content.

Was a real bit of internet history. Maybe i'll go digging up some internet archive links to bolster the article. 194.75.1.17 (talk) 21:54, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
