Hello. Is it an equivalent of DirectX, like OpenGL is the equivalent of Direct3D and OpenAL is the equivalent of DirectSound ? Thanks. 83.112.114.214 02:32, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

- Yes, the article makes the usual confusion between an interface and a library. Many people say "API" without knowing it only applies to the interface, not the library that implements it. With real citations of course, instead of just in-line URLs promoting a site. W Nowicki (talk) 19:40, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
