This article seems like an advertisement for the website. Thoughts?

It's an important website and deserves a wiki page. Might be good to have more detail on here, and I'm sure there are criticisms to be had, if you know more add it! Iamsorandom (talk) 15:27, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Belated agreement that it's at least a useful website, a key point is that the writers are journalists and are subject to English libel laws albeit able to claim qualified privilege. JRPG (talk) 08:05, 6 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Editor

[edit]

Mary Fitzgerald isn’t the Editor anymore. And they have a Director now as well. 86.9.128.123 (talk) 22:42, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Two things: Mary Fitzgerald was the editor-in-chief, not just the editor; and Aman Sethi will start as the editor-on-chief on 1 February. He's not there yet! I work for openDemocracy so I'm not going to make the edit myself. Julian (talk) 13:50, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

unfamiliar with the style to add such an update but just wanted to inform 50.26.189.77 (talk) 17:56, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

To be clear, openDemocracy has not closed. This announcement refers to an openDemocracy project called oDR, which covered the post-Soviet countries. This closed, very sadly, on 31 December 2023. See https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/odr/russia-ukraine-coverage-closure-funding-odr/ I work for openDemocracy Julian (talk) 13:56, 25 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
