Belated agreement that it's at least a useful website, a key point is that the writers are journalists and are subject to English libel laws albeit able to claim qualified privilege. JRPG (talk) 08:05, 6 September 2016 (UTC)

Editor

Two things: Mary Fitzgerald was the editor-in-chief, not just the editor; and Aman Sethi will start as the editor-on-chief on 1 February. He's not there yet! I work for openDemocracy so I'm not going to make the edit myself. Julian (talk) 13:50, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Pravda

It's long focused on Russia - see https://twitter.com/opendemocracyru. The idea that it has links with Russian official media would be pretty quickly dismissed by anyone looking at their coverage. Cordless Larry (talk) 13:03, 2 April 2022 (UTC)

Well, it contains the line "In short, there is rightly much anger across the West at what Putin's forces have been doing and will continue to do in Ukraine", and then they've published things like this and this. Talk pages aren't supposed to be used as forums for discussing article subjects but to discuss potential improvements to the article. To be clear, openDemocracy has not closed. This announcement refers to an openDemocracy project called oDR, which covered the post-Soviet countries. This closed, very sadly, on 31 December 2023.
