Mr. No Funny Nickname no source on the page explicitly says the party is centre-left or social liberal. I also don't see anything in the source for the party's membership explicitly saying it increased, please provide a direct quote from that source which explicitly says as such. Mr. No Funny Nickname if there are no sources that state what is in the article then that information is original research and should not be in the article. You've given no direct quotes from any sources in the Wikipedia article that state what I removed. I.e. I removed unsourced claims. Unless you can show what sources within the Wikipedia article explicitly state the claims I removed are true, then its original research and should be removed. Should we consider changing the position to “Centre”? Doesn’t make sense not to have a political position for a political party. Basically every Wiki page for Canadian political parties lists a position. I believe that “Centre to centre left” is fine, but maybe we can find consensus in the middle in order to ensure this page is providing as much info as possible. After all, liberalism is centrism. Within the Constitution of the Ontario Liberal Party (2024-09-22), listed under “1.Purpose” is as follows:

• “b) advocate for and support liberal political policies;”

Mr. No Funny Nickname, the "IMPORTANT: Do not change party ideology or position without bringing reliable sources to the Talk page and garnering consensus." note you referenced was added by Mcnasty1point0. There are no sources cited on the page calling the party centrist or centre-left. Notes manadating such things can't just be added to enforce the retention of original research. I should note that I did not add the "IMPORTANT: Do not change party ideology or position without bringing reliable sources to the Talk page and garnering consensus." - it had been in place for years prior.

I will bring to the table today a comment made by current party leader, Bonnie Crombie, that might help us to reach a consensus on the party ideology front. In a recent podcast appearance (links are not allowed - search "Progress Canada" on YouTube), Crombie referee to herself as a "centrist" when discussing how she will move forward with shaping party policy. Given that we do not have many sources to reference, might this be enough to gain consensus to list the part ideology as "Centre"? It comes straight from the mouth of the current party leader, and it is a very recent statement.

That would be WP:SYNTH, as you said, she referred to herself as centrist, not the party. Reliable third-party sources are also highly preferable to any first party self-claims. Helper201 (talk) 20:03, 25 July 2025 (UTC)

Many news sources have the OLP as centre-left.
