What kind of fertilizer?
[edit]What kind of plant food do these species need for houseplant survival? Send help quick! 99.55.163.191 (talk) 22:35, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Selected species
[edit]This is way too many species to be a "selected" species list. Would anyone object to splitting it out into something like List of Oncidium species? ♠PMC♠ (talk) 11:57, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Should genus reorg mean renaming or redirecting old species?
[edit]After the 2013 reorganization mentioned in the description, many species changed genuses. However, many former Oncidium species still have Oncidium pages rather than pages for their new names, like Oncidium hydrophilum. Should we be renaming or redirecting the pages with these old names? I ask because I was looking for sources on Oncidium hydrophilum and wondering if it is worth editing that page if it is just going to get removed or redirected? Apologies if this is a silly ask, or not the correct place, I'm new here. Happyjani (talk) 00:39, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Happyjani,
- Not silly, certainly the correct place. Thanks for your interest. I'm interested in Australian orchids, and the genus Oncidium does not occur in Australia. Oncidium hydrophilum is now Gomesa hydrophila. But I'll do the redirect to Gomesa hydrophila if you would write the article. Although it will take a little time, I'll also update the genus article and the species list. Please ask if I can be of any help to you. Gderrin (talk) 04:55, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! I'm afraid I don't have enough info for a detailed article. It'll take someone fluent in Portuguese for that. I'll update the stub with the info I do have. I can also help with the moves and redirects for other species that were renamed (I looked up how). Happyjani (talk) 22:43, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
