Is the term "oil depot" really more common than "tank farm"? I believe that "tank farm" predominates. Perhaps a web search can confirm this. 75.149.29.126 (talk) 15:34, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Claim of Russian invention
[edit]Okay, a little more precision from me on this issue. Vladimir Shukhov was clearly a remarkable figure and he did apparently pioneer the cylindrical oil tanks used in depots, along with an amazing array of other innovations. But a modern oil depot is a complex facility comprised of many different elements and he did not invent that, nor did any single person or country. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 18:37, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
