Sheet Music
[edit]While I understand that it's the official sheet music, someone should probably let the government of Canada know that the sharp is placed incorrectly: it's indicating a B-sharp instead of the C-sharp the melody moves to there. ~2026-19758-4 (talk) 11:19, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
- Where do you see a B-sharp? (which would be very unusual) --Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:25, 25 April 2026 (UTC)
Add (or replace) References for "Second, third and fourth stanzas: historical refrain"
[edit]The first reference in this section ([1]) points to a Canadian government page that doesn't include the extra stanzas. Said page does recommend https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/o-canada#OriginalEnglishLyricsbyRobertStanleyWeir1908, which includes the extra stanzas. Can this be switched over?
Additionally, the other reference in this section ([18]), doesn't seem to contain any information corroborating the point that "These are rarely sung." ~2026-24021-27 (talk) 21:11, 18 April 2026 (UTC)
French IPA text
[edit]I noticed that Michael Bednarek removed the IPA of the French lyrics. I'm not too aware of applicable policy as to whether it should stay or not, but I felt that it was useful - is there anything specific that suggests we should remove it (or was it just that it was technically unsourced)? eviolite (talk) 23:16, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
- I dispute that IPA transcription of French text is useful. French is not an exotic language, and the transcription burdens the article with a considerable expanse of text that is unintelligible to most readers and produces an awkward layout (a nightmare on mobile devices); see the version before my edit. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 00:09, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
- I see, thanks for the swift explanation! eviolite (talk) 00:23, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
Performances
[edit]Could somebody please add to the "Performances" section that NASCAR plays O Canada at both Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, NY and at Loudon Speedway in Loudon NH. This is due to their closeness to Canada attracting Canadian racing fans. ~2026-37839-59 (talk) 01:13, 2 July 2026 (UTC)
