Filament coating

"The cathode has been removed. The heater is tungsten wire coated with a refractory dielectric material of high thermal conductivity."

I would presume the coating has a low work function in order to improve electron emission lowering the temperature and power consumption of the filament. I find it hard to believe that the thermal conduktivity would be a major issue.150.227.15.253 (talk) 10:16, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
