There are at least two Novachords in Australia
[edit]Hello, I have become aware of information regarding the amount of Hammond Novachords in Australia. There is one fully operational one in the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio (MESS) collection currently, here is the booking page: https://mess.foundation/product/novachord/. I should note they allow members to book, play, and record this instrument for an astonishingly low cost.
Speaking to a MESS staff member, they had a visitor from interstate come and try this Novachord. According to their story, the visitor has a private instrument collection somewhere on an Australian island. Part of their collection includes a Novachord that has been being serviced for a few years, the visitor came to MESS to try a working Novachord, as the one they own has not been playable.
This is anecdotal second-hand knowledge that there are at least two Novachords in Australia, one is publicly playable, the other is in a private collection and inoperable.
I am hesitant to add this knowledge to the main article as it isn't easily verifiable, but I thought I'd add what I know so that a more passionate instrument nerd can make the appropriate changes in future. Heathcorp (talk) 07:09, 23 October 2025 (UTC)
