Edit to Introduction

Taking a look at the introduction section of this article, I feel as if the following sentence feels a bit clunky due to the way "assisted dying" is written:

"At age 25, she was one of the youngest people to receive assisted dying after demonstrating chronic and irreversible pain."

I would suggest we edit it to be structured as such:

"At age 25, she was one of the youngest people to receive medical assistance in dying after demonstrating chronic and irreversible pain."

Not only would this clean up the sentence structure for this article, it would also utilize the correct terminology for medically assisted euthanasia in the country of Spain, which is what this article is discussing. Cmcorgiat2019 (talk) 19:45, 28 March 2026 (UTC)

Misinformation

This page has barely been on the main page and already is being affected by a "both sides may be right" when it comes to viral claims on the subject.

It does not help that the story is of most importance and coverage in Spain, and therefore the fact-checking is done in Spanish - a language that most speakers of English can't read. So they go by what they have seen in English on social media.

The viral claims have been circulated by lawyers who have been rejected or dismissed at every appeal, magnified by politicians and then repeated by English-speaking figures. We then arrive at the conclusion that she was taken into care, raped in the care home by migrants, and euthanised because of depression. Then we get to the point that people are editing that the claim is reasonable that she wanted to turn away from euthanasia but could not, because her organs were already promised for donation and the doctors stood to profit.

I can't point out a lot here because I would have to copy, paste and translate whole sources, but a variety of sources are already referenced on this page to say that these claims are misinformation. Unknown Temptation (talk) 16:40, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

There is a lot of speculation on the reasoning for that and why the Spanish state chose that course of action.

Did she develop neurotic symptoms after this or were these present beforehand?

I understand that there are people saying some aspects are misinformation but it's difficult to find information that Chronicles the facts.

In the absence of a series of events to a good standard people will not have a way to filter out information that is purely speculative.

'NCR' as a reference

This has, presumably, at the very least, a conflict of interest, with the lawyers also being religious. Not sure if its reliability has ever been discussed, but, at minimum, it might be biased towards one side, and since there's also lots of other sources I'm not sure why it can't be dispensed with... ~2026-20165-13 (talk) 07:40, 1 April 2026 (UTC)

I don't know about the reliability of that source. It was cited for a description of the injection, but it didn't even mention that at all, so all it was really citing was her date of death.
