[edit]I don't find very much in the way of mention of the IPO (initial public offering) of this company (newfoundland light and power/fortis). I believe it was some time around 1982 with an ipo price of $9. I'd like to find out more because Newfoundland Power/Fortis is unique in that they have an historically government subsidized electrical utility monopoly and benefit from market capitalization, not exactly what I'd call "free enterprise" or "capitalism".
