Adding a topic here (even though I believe is more suitable on WT:KO ... anyway but feel free to move this) pertaining to changing newer images (in terms of date) to older images on BLP articles. I observed the WP:STATUSQUO within WP:KO's editors' editing behaviour is to use newer image instead of older image unless the newer image:
is AI enhanced and/or heavily photoshopped
is of a lower resolution and/or quality
has background that is too messy that causes the subject to be hard to see
According to RachelTensions on my talk page, the disruptive editing started due to this 2024 image having "veneers" (not visible nor obvious to me, if it even exists) hence @Yolo9090 (blocked 48h as of this comment) edited disruptively. After the back-and-forth silly drama, Tropicalkitty removed that image, RachelTensions then restored to this long-standing image since 2023, and Yolo9090 changed it to this 2022 image, and Crazycomputers restored back the 2023 image.
Hence, lets us get some consensus if we should retain the current 2023 image or update to the older 2022 image or the newer 2024 image, I'm fine with either 3 images as neither falls under the above 3 pointers raised by me earlier in May 2024. I'm asking this as I expected that Yolo9090 continuing their unacceptable behaviour and they may also attempt to change to this image uploaded by them on Commons which is taken from the same source as the 2024 image but obvious not the best quality. —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)09:52, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
I really don't care as long as it's not a lower quality or AI enhanced image just for the sake of replacing it with something "new".Aside from her teeth (yes she got veneers in early 2023), the subject's appearance hasn't changed much in the past few years so any good quality photo from 2022/2023/2024 is fine by me as long as it's not a worse image than whatever it's replacing. RachelTensions (talk) 09:58, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@RachelTensions @Windborne Rider I don't mind your suggested image either. Let's wait a day or so, if no further comment, I think it would be safe to proceed to change unless your have further concerns like waiting longer or asking for further advice elsewhere on English Wikipedia. —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)10:08, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
FWIW my involvement was mostly to get everyone to the last step of WP:BRD. I don't have a particular opinion on which image should be used. Yolo9090 seems primarily concerned about not choosing an excessively unflattering photo, which I don't think is a bad goal (their behavior being another subject entirely) particularly on a BLP. --Chris |Crazycomputers (talk) 19:43, 30 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Crazycomputers Is there any suggestions on what is the next step be if their behaviour continues after their unblock? I'm asking this in the event after we pushed ahead with changing to the 2022 image suggested and supported above by RachelTensions and further supported by me and Windborne Rider, I believe that this would be considered as a form of consensus hence should they continue their behaviour, we can assumed that it's ignoring consensus. — 👻🎃 Paper9oll 🎃👻 (🔔 • 📝)07:27, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
That would be disruptive editing / edit warring and could be reported at the appropriate venue. I would definitely caution you not to edit war along with them. If they don't get the message after you've reverted once, bring in other editors via a noticeboard such as WP:ANEW or feel free to ping me and I'll take a look myself. --Chris |Crazycomputers (talk) 18:14, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hey @Paper9oll I ain't reading allat convo but from what I can tell it seems some users from 5 months ago kept changing the subjects' image to an unattractive one, while the other wanted the more appealing but older image hence the census note y'all put. My question is, wouldn't it be common sense that the image that I uploaded be obvious enough that it's an appealing image of nayeon? I don't think we need too much in-depth talk for that one. Turniner (talk) 10:06, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
The note is there for a reason—specifically, to address the persistent disruptive editing aimed at repeatedly changing the image. Per WP:CONSENSUS, you're expected to propose changes and wait for agreement, not force them through—especially on a matter that has already been previously disputed. From what I've seen, there is no established consensus to change the image to one from 2025. And to clarify, posting a comment does not automatically mean consensus has been achieved. That’s precisely the misunderstanding your current behavior reflects. —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)12:28, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Proposed new image for the editing war's sake. The new image provided below was taken this year (2025), while the image in the infobox was taken in 2022.
Neither (1–3) due to blurriness when compared to the current image, which was selected by consensus already fulfill its purpose — namely, "to give readers visual confirmation that they've arrived at the right page". —Paper9oll(🔔 • 📝)14:09, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

I have updated the infobox image to this–
It's from the same video but it's a new upload. I believe it isn't "blurry" and it is not AI upscaled or retouched– screenshotted when the subject looked towards the camera for a millisecond.

I've uploaded a few images from a recent event. I think the first one is the best as it's crisp, shows her clearly looking into the camera, and is recent. Hoping to get a more recent photo of her, especially seeing as she isn't often blonde.
I'm happy with that one too, to be honest. Definitely the best out of the options from that event - it's clear and a good likeness to her current look. Not sure it is essential that she is facing the camera. Fwee images would suit the endorsements section. orangesclub🍊17:20, 25 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
I think it's fine, most people wouldn't notice that it's cropped and you can still clearly see like her face and everything. Although if you really need to change it for whatever reason I would suggest using this image or the one I provided previously. ~2025-37611-72 (talk) 22:49, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
