"The BJP lost its majority in the lower house of Parliament and formed a government leading a coalition". The sentence is factually correct, but grammatically awkward because “formed a government leading a coalition” is less precise. Change the above to The BJP lost its majority in the Lok Sabha but remained the largest party and formed the government with its allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).BasNamRahegaAllaKa (talk) 11:11, 15 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for addressing the grammatical issue. My concern was not only the awkward wording, but also the ambiguity in “formed a government leading a coalition.” It does not clearly indicate whether “coalition” refers to the pre-existing political alliance (the NDA) or to a coalition government formed as a result of the election outcome. The proposed wording was intended to make that distinction explicit by stating that the BJP remained the largest party and formed the government with its NDA allies.
The article used to say "leading a coalition" (emphasis mine), which is intended to convey that it is the coalition's senior member. That wording was removed at your request. Vanamonde93 (talk) 15:55, 16 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. My concern is specifically about the relationship between “coalition” and the National Democratic Alliance. The wording “formed a coalition government” does not make clear that the NDA was the pre-existing political alliance through which the BJP formed the government after the election. The wikilink to National Democratic Alliance identifies the alliance, but does not resolve that grammatical ambiguity. I therefore suggest wording that explicitly distinguishes the two: “The BJP lost its majority in the Lok Sabha but remained the largest party and formed the government with its allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).” BasNamRahegaAllaKa (talk) 07:44, 17 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

alleged acquisitions for Narendra modi are presented as the truth while for Dr. Singh an acquittal in court is a proof of innocence.
Dr. Singh’s introduction reads a lot nicer than Modi’s, both PMs elected by the people holding the same office, references are sourced to glorify one and degrade the other.
Whats more surprising is that one of the editors cited their own authored papers as a source for a fact they themselves edited.
As a citizen of the republic of India, I would raise an objection to such a biased introduction to the serving prime minister, wondering if Wikipedia is being used to serve political purposes. I am not claiming everything is false, sure there is nothing that can’t be backed by articles and sources. But both sides have facts that can be proven and an unbiased article should be focused on both sides in the introduction. FLanKer42 (talk) 00:54, 19 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Comment For the benefit of visitors who may not be familiar with the context, please note that the reference to “Dr. Singh” above refers to Dr. Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister of India and the predecessor to the current Prime Minister. Could you please provide a diff supporting the claim that “one of the editors cited their own authored papers as a source for a fact they themselves edited”? This would help clarify the basis for the statement and allow others to verify it. BasNamRahegaAllaKa (talk) 04:27, 19 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
