strange sentence

[edit]

Hello, The sentence: "Myxococcus is a single celled predatory bacteria that are facultative bacteria." looks rather odd to me. In particular, what does "facultative bacteria" mean? A bacteria is not "facultatively" a bacteria. Does it mean "facultative predators" or "facultative aerobes"?
