Mr. Ali is president of the Board of Education in Jersey City, and would appear to be a viable candidate for mayor of Jersey City this year: there are 17 references here. While you are replying to a comment I made 4 months ago, the situation hasn't changed. Ali fails WP:POLOUTCOMES, and does not meet the notability standards for a stand alone page. A great example of this is Joe Hathaway, who is the current mayor of Rockaway, and the Republican candidate in the special election for NJ-11. (For comparison, Ali came in 4th in his mayoral election and is currently only at 15% to win the democratic primary) The result of the Joe Hathaway (American Politician) AFD was to deny a stand alone article, and to redirect to the 2026 11th congressional district special election. The result for this article should most likely be a redirect to New Jersey's 8th congressional district.
One final thing, you deleted the article for deletion header, which is not the acceptable protocol. There should be a discussion, you should not unilaterally delete the header. Cfgauss77 (talk) 22:39, 6 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
