"Aw!" Sound

[edit]

I just watched several videos of old 60s Mr. Machine toys, and I could not identify any of them making an "Aw!" sound or an "Ah" sound or anything other than its normal gears/bell ringing.

There is mention of this from a handful of websites, but they all seem to use similar or identical descriptor text and I feel it is not reliable. I'm going to remove the claims that it makes a speaking sound, and I apologize if this is in error. Dabizi~enwiki (talk) 20:46, 22 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I never had one of these, but I remember seeing an older one years ago. There seemed to be a bellows activated by a cam & lever of some sort which would trigger after the legs had cycled a certain number of times. The bellows made a brief "aahhh" sound. The only way to describe it was "The moo sound from turning the cannister shaped noisemaker upside down - sold in the Cracker Barrel gift shop."
In the b/w commercial, the announcer says "...he talks, no he squawks while he walks..." at the 20-second mark. KCMurphy72 (talk) 04:17, 2 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
