Regarding notability

Reason for the name 'monus'?
[edit]It occurred to me that truncated subtraction might be called 'monus' because it is like 'minus' but not quite. At a stretch, you could even say that it could be called monus because it is like minus but it sometimes returns 0, hence the letter 'o' instead of the letter 'i' (sort of like how abstract algebraists use terms such as 'r1ng', 'rng', 'rig', etc.). I don't know if this is actually the reason for the name, but if it is then I think it would be nice to mention it in the article. Joel Brennan (talk) 16:23, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
