Mirabel Hillier married Arthur Ronald Topham... They had become engaged in 1916 when he was in the army (private, Royal Artillery).

From the wiki page British Army other ranks rank insignia: Many units do not use the rank "Private", using instead… "Gunner" in the Royal Artillery. Valetude (talk) 23:56, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I used the terms for his army service that appeared in a biography of Mirabel Topham. However, if the term 'Gunner' is what was used for privates in the Royal Artillary during the First World War, certainly change it, and thank you for spotting this detail.--MerielGJones (talk 13:35, 30 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
