Should the convex set contain 0?

I'm not sure if the convex set K (in the definition of the Minkowski's Functional) should contain 0. I know an alternative definition where K does not necessarily contain 0. In this case, the range of the function is

There is not really a 1to1 correspondence between circled balanced sets and seminorms. This is only "almost" true. For example will the open unit ball in R^2 and the closed unit ball in R^2 result in the same seminorm. --131.234.106.197 (talk) 14:56, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
