I think the location on the map may be wrong. 2602:306:B80B:53D0:BDC9:3EC7:911F:74DB (talk) 16:51, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Town names changed, move the article or no?

[edit]

1 2 -

Minbya Township (Minbya)

Pauktaw Township (Pauktaw)

The town & township names have been changed by the Arakan Army as they control these regions. Maybe now there could be grounds for moving the articles to the new names, but since the changes have not been recognized by any other authoritative body / government, I would like an opinion if it matters or not.. If not, page move to new name is feasible..ping: @EmeraldRangeEmeraldRange @Battlesnake1 WinKyaw (talk) 09:41, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

We use the common English name, not official name. I can't even find a singular source right now that reports on the spelling of the English version of Werathani in the text itself (rather than the Pali name). I've been monitoring five different news sources hoping one of them will publish the photo of the new signs outside of facebook, but no luck still. It's definitely too soon.EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 16:51, 29 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
