Needs re-written?
[edit]Holy storytime! It looks like a large portion of this article needs either re-written or just removed. I see quotes from family members, stories, and very subjective language. DiamondPVPr (talk) 17:15, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
Some direct lifts from sources, including a whole paragraph
[edit]I found an entire paragraph mostly lifted from a source website, and the original was not paraphrased much. I thought of making it a bulleted list and rewording but it is really a list orchestras and conductors. "She performed with international ensembles such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo and the Philharmonic orchestras of Osaka in Japan, Seoul in Korea, Liège in Belgium, and Bergen in Norway. Additionally, she worked with the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Residentie Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London, and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana. Her collaborations brought her under the direction of conductors such as Kent Nagano, Dmitri Kitayenko, Horst Stein, and Myung-whun Chung." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erigalle (talk • contribs) 01:30, 24 November 2025 (UTC)
- I have fixed the problematic section you called out. Luka Maglc (talk) 19:35, 25 December 2025 (UTC)
Birth year inconsistency / source conflict
[edit]The article currently presents conflicting birth years for Michaela Paetsch Neftel (lead/infobox/short description/categories aren’t consistent). I’m seeing at least one recent secondary source that explicitly gives 1961, while several contemporary newspaper items only state her age. Back-calculating a birth year from those “age X” mentions by subtracting from a publication date produces a range (roughly 1962–1964), but that’s not a solid way to establish a birth year here because the age may be rounded, refer to the event rather than the publication date, or be reported incorrectly, and it risks synthesis. Until a reliable source explicitly and unambiguously states her birth year/date, we should remove the birth year from the infobox/lead, avoid a specific “1961 births” category, and use an uncertainty category (e.g., “Year of birth uncertain”) while keeping the consistently sourced birth place and death date. If anyone has a higher-quality biographical source (major obituary, official institutional bio, competition record, publisher/label bio) that states the DOB/year directly, please add it so we can resolve this cleanly.
