The claim that Mia is originally, or usually, a Slavic name is somewhat suspicious. Notably, there is not even a single Mia from a Slavic country on the list of notable persons. If Mia, indeed, is a pet name for originally non-Slavic names like Maria, Amelia, Emilia and Amalia, as mentioned towards the end of article, then in most cases there need not be anything Slavic about its origin.
