"was often shown as being within driving distance of Metropolis" rather relative a term. Unless you have to take a boat the tip of South America to Alaska is driving distance. Glenmorgan square was added to the Wikipedia article on 2006 and later it was claimed the location appears in Superman Returns. The location is not mentioned in the movie's dialogue or script, and the alleged shot from the movie depicting the location is not in the movie. The earliest official appearance of Glen Morgan square is in 2010 preview screenshots of DC Universe Online, a game which was released in 2011. A character named Glen Glenmorgan was featured in DC comics in 2011.
Is Glenmorgan square mentioned in comics or other media published before 2006 when the location was added to Wikipedia? If not, this is a case of Wikipedia vandalism persisting for so long that it got incorporated into official material. ForgotMyAccountName (talk) 07:56, 28 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
Very late reply, but it's mentioned in Superman: Secret Files, released in 2009. Can't find anything from before then, but it's possible it could have been in a comic issue somewhere that's just rather obscure. Worth looking into. BubbleRevolution (talk) 01:32, 18 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Small update, Glenmorgan Square (misspelled as "Glernmorgan Square") appears in the 1987 Superman NES game, so it's definitely not just from an anonymous Wikipedia editor. Would be interesting to see where the first use of the name is from.

I think some sections of this article might go against WP:UNIVERSE: describing the city from the perspective of characters living in the fictional universe, rather than describing it entirely as a fictional city. For example, I think the sections on history, and on cultural, educational, and research institutions might be in-universe. Actually, even though the content of industry section is acceptable, I'm not sure it should be under an "industry" header. Instead I think it makes more sense to have a section of the institutions that play a role in Superman stories, like LexCorp and the Daily Planet.
