2025

[edit]

Multiple merit badges were revised in 2025 as per this https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Merit-Badge-Requirement-Updates-Effective-January-1-2025-Updated-12-12-24.pdf SnappyRiffs (talk) 00:29, 7 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Is is the right title?

[edit]

Since merit badges are in many countries, this article should be renamed to "Merit badge in USA" or similar. Wikipedia is international, not just USA. Bduke (talk) 22:35, 15 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Test Lab Section?

[edit]

Given the development around the Merit Badge test lab over the past few years, is it worth including a section on this page about the Test Lab? Tostie14 (talk) 16:57, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Page move needs consensus here

[edit]

User:Compass128 recently requested the speedy deletion of the redirect Merit badges so this article could be moved there, stating the reasoning as "Sources universally identify the merit badge program itself (that the article describes) as 'merit badges,' plural. The bolded header of the current article is plural as well." The speedy deletion was considered by admins for 4 days without being acted on, which is a very long time for such things. I believe this delay was caused by a sense that the page move isn't "non-controversial or consensual," which is what it needs to be to use speedy delete. Since there doesn't appear to be a consensus for this move, I'm declining the speedy delete and raising the issue here. If consensus to move the page is shown here, it can again be brought up for speedy delete consideration.--SouthernNights (talk) 18:26, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
