Up to the tables that start in the section #Race cars, "Formula One" is linked 12 times. This includes about seven links in citations but those also constitute overlinks, IMO. "Lando Norris" links eight times not including the tables. This includes several in captions, which could be considered overlinking as well. I didn't check the others. ☆ Bri (talk) 15:30, 2 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Mclaren just announced their special livery for the Monaco gp celebrating their 1000th entry in the history of the sport. This is consistent with every official F1 media but on this site it says the number of entries is 1003. I am going to link the offical Formula 1 page and ask someone to correct the number on the main wikipedia page. Thank you in advance

They have 998 starts as of now, which will rise to 1000 when 2 cars start the Monaco GP. You can be entered into a race and not start it (DNS). It isn't inconsistent, just two different terms.GalacticVelocity08 (talk) 19:25, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
That's not quite right. The number of starts shown in the infobox is the number of races McLaren have started. Wikipedia's value (998) matches StatsF1's value. Assuming at least 1 McLaren starts the Monaco Grand Prix, our value and StatsF1's will increase to 999. The point of difference with McLaren's value of 1000 may be the 2005 United States Grand Prix, where the McLarens pulled into the pitlane at the end of the formation lap. Wikipedia and StatsF1 consider this as a "Did not start". McLaren may consider this as a "start" (because their cars left the dummy grid). DH85868993 (talk) 20:43, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also possible that they are choosing not to count the double DNS in China for marketing/advertisement purposes as they would've had it planned before the season began, and having such a milestone at a prestigious race like Monaco is a great look. That is just a guess, though. GalacticVelocity08 (talk) 22:51, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
