Title of the film

[edit]

Dear colleagues,
I am leaving the present message out of courtesy to other editors watching this article.
I watched this charming film recently and wanted to learn more about it, ran a search here at the Wiki, and was surprised not to find an article about it. I was about to draft one and began assembling sources, when I came across this Wikipedia article by chance (via google search), and its title surprised me, for the following reasons:
1. The film was advertised as Master Cheng in the TV schedule;
2. Amazon uses Master Cheng as the title of the Prime video, or Master Cheng in Pohjanjoki for the DVD & Blu-ray;
3. the film review by The Guardian (for example), refers to Master Cheng;
4. IMDb lists the film as Master Cheng];
5. when I google A Spice for Life, only one of the occurrences refers to this film as Master Cheng (A Spice For Life) at an Australian website, here.
I suspect there is a good reason for using A Spice for Life for the article title, although I cannot find out what it is.
Given the evidence I listed above, I would therefore propose that we use Master Cheng as the main article title, by a simple move, but I will wait for comments from other colleagues before taking any action. Thank you.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(become old-fashioned!) 10:39, 28 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

As you can see, I have just moved the article to Master Cheng and will also remove the reference to A Spice for Life as an alternative title, as the SBS link you mention above at 5 now has been changed and no longer includes that title: . In case someone actually searches for "A Spice for Life", it will link to this page anyway. I suspect that A Spice for Life may have been a working title at some point. IMDb mentions that title only as "alternative title", possibly because Wikipedia has had it. Thomas Blomberg (talk) 02:16, 7 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
