i previously worked as a research associate at the Departement of General Practice and Primary Care at University MedicalCenter Hamburg-Eppendorf. I no longer have a professional affiliation with the department or Martin Scherer. I am editing under a pseudonym, independently and without payment. I am disclosing this possible conflict of interest before proposing changes.

The English article contains outdated information and some promotional wording. I propose the following changes:

Update the lead to state that Scherer served as president of DEGAM from 2019 to 2025 and is now a past president.
