I think that in order to rectify this article, the history of the company needs to be expanded into prose form, and some of the history from the J. Willard Marriott article needs to be pulled in. This article contradicts the Howard Johnson's article regarding the dates Marriott acquired and then split up the former HoJo restaurant/lodging chain. K7L (talk) 01:13, 29 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Is it worth mentioning that the split of the company may have been motivated by an expected reduction in the market value of the company's debt (by shifting virtually all of the company's debt and troubled assets to Host Marriott)?
