Conflict of interest disclosure

[edit]

I am Marcus Hunter-Neill, the subject of the draft currently being developed at User:RDEBI1111/sandbox. I am therefore disclosing my conflict of interest openly.

I have prepared the draft with the intention of submitting it through the Articles for Creation process for independent review. I have aimed to base the article on published reliable sources and to follow Wikipedia's requirements on neutral point of view, verifiability and biographies of living people.

I welcome independent editorial review and any changes considered necessary to bring the draft into line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. RDEBI1111 (talk) 04:13, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

@RDEBI1111: I'm seeing quite a few AI signs in this, to what extent did you use LLMs to write the article?--Launchballer 00:22, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to review the draft. I completely understand the concern you've raised, and I just wanted to explain honestly how I ended up in this situation.
I have severe dyslexia and am neurodivergent, and I use AI assistance as part of my normal day-to-day accessibility setup. I tend to speak rather than type, and use technology to help turn what I say into written text and assist me with things like spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting. It's simply how I've learned to manage written work that I would otherwise find extremely difficult.
When I decided to try to create this Wikipedia draft, I gathered the information, press coverage and sources, and then used AI assistance to help me organise what I was providing and navigate things like Wikipedia formatting, citations and the technical coding, because I genuinely didn't know how to do any of that myself.
I now understand from your feedback that there are restrictions around using AI to generate or rewrite the actual prose of an article. I genuinely wasn't trying to circumvent Wikipedia's rules or do anything improper. I simply didn't realise that the accessibility tools I normally use would cause a problem here.
I'm very happy to address the issue, but I'm not entirely sure what the appropriate workaround is for someone in my position. Could you possibly advise me on what I would need to change in the draft, or what an acceptable way of approaching it would be while still using the accessibility support I need?
I have also openly disclosed that I am the subject of the draft, so if the better approach would be for an independent Wikipedia editor to work from the published sources I've gathered, I would be completely open to that too. If there is somewhere I could ask whether an experienced editor might be willing to help me, I'd really appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
I also don't want to take up anyone's time unnecessarily. I understand that Wikipedia editors are volunteers, so I'm very conscious of that and enormously appreciative of anyone who takes the time to offer guidance.
Thank you again for reviewing it and for helping a complete Wikipedia newbie understand what I need to do next.
All the very best of wishes,
Marcus

You should really leave someone else to write this. As it happens, I am looking for articles to run in the did you know section of the main page as part of a trans-themed set on 20 November, so I might expand this myself (but I want to finish Draft:Wile E. Coyote first).--Launchballer 04:12, 15 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

I would find Zoom/WhatsApp overwhelming due to my own autism, I'm afraid. I'm planning on rewriting this myself once I've finished with the article I'm currently working on, please be patient.--Launchballer 12:13, 15 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Did you know nomination

[edit]
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as this nomination's talk page, the article's talk page or Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. Track your hook after promotion. No further edits should be made to this page.

The result was: promoted by Beta Beta Beta (talk) 06:35, 27 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Moved to mainspace by Launchballer (talk) and RDEBI1111 (talk). Number of QPQs required: 2. DYK is currently in unreviewed backlog mode and nominator has 435 past nominations.

  • Great to see another NI hook ending up for DYK seeing as it only has 2m people (~3% of UK population) and I've created something from that region! But anyway, the article is new enough (nominated for DYK the same day it was moved to mainspace) and long enough (2645 bytes). The two QPQs are done as required as the review was for a double nomination. No copyvio as earwig only returned 6%. I guess all hooks are interesting and present in article, and was surprised on how he donated £20k worh of clothes. JuniperChill (talk) 14:28, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
