The line is named for its mane of long, coarse black-and-white-banded hairs that begins at the top of the head and extends beyond the base of the tail. is a straight cut-and-paste from the Britannica folks, really, you can do better. link

Good job editing this article. I think it would help the readers of this article if you had an updated section on the breeding/reproduction/litter size/etc. of this particular species of rat. This one is actually poisonous and not venomous. It sequesters toxins and doesn't produce venom
