Naming

[edit]

Per WPEQ, you know that the project generally doesn't use parenthetical disambiguation in breed names due to the prevalence of named animals of these species - there is no named donkey called Majorera. I know this is a hot button issue in general and I don't want to poke that beehive, but I'd like the change here. I don't have this concern about parenthetical disambiguation with goats, pigs, cattle, etc., as those are livestock animals that are seldom named, I'm not active in those projects, and I'm perfectly happy to let those projects decide their own consensus. But working animals are where and why I feel there is a distinction; like companion animals, they generally are given individual names. I don't want the drama of a RM (given the broader problem), but if you and I can get to the same page on this, (I doubt anyone else would actually care about the article itself) I know a few friendly admins who could quietly do the move without the drama.
