This is not a good sentence, but I don't know how to edit it, because I don't know what it means exactly. Was there a "Maghull & Sefton" station at one point? Lyso 20:59, 24 August 2005 (UTC)

• There was, it was on the 'Cheshire Lines' extension from Liverpool to Southport via Maghull. See - this line now forms part of the long distance path the Trans Pennine Trail.

Re: DJR_UK's recently reverted vandalism, unfortunately in this one case s/he is correct, Maghull does appear in "Crap Towns" vol. 2, although the criteria for selection and ranking of the listed towns were never made entirely clear in the book. Pete Fenelon, 2006-05-09

Famous connections slot

I am interested in cleaning this part up. I am not an expert so I may not clean it up to Wikipedia hierarchy standards but I hope I can help clean up the drivel that exists which links anyone that is anyone that's ever breathed in Maghull. Climate Due to its position near the north-west coast of England, Maghull has a temperate maritime climate: its Köppen climate classification is Cfb.Its mean annual temperature of 10.2 °C (50 °F)[2] is similar to that experienced throughout the Mersey basin and slightly cooler than the English average. Average sunshine hours at 1394.6[3] are slightly above the average for the UK of 1339.7.[4] January is the coldest month with an average mean temperature of 4.7 °C[2] while July is the hottest at 16.7 °C.[2] Rainfall at 806.6 mm (31.76 in) is slightly lower than the England average of 838 mm and much lower than the UK average of 1,125.5 mm (44.29 in).[4] October is the wettest month with an average rainfall of 86 mm (3.39 in) and April is the most dry with 49.1 mm (1.93 in) of rain.[3] The nearest weather station of the Met Office is at Manchester Airport.

Timeline

"978: St Tadger visited Maghull..." I suspect this is a joke. "Tadger" is slang for penis, not the name of a saint. Reference to "the Goblin of Sefton" adds to this suspicion; in Mordor possibly, but not in Maghull.
