Sir Robert Charles MacLean of Breda Bt, 1st Baronet of Alford, 5th Laird of Breda

[edit]

This gentleman is listed as a Maclean Chieftain here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_Maclean However, I can find no record of Baronet of Alford. Can anyone help? Shipsview (talk) 08:20, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted this entry. I am informed that there is no such Baronet. Shipsview (talk) 17:30, 10 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Maclean Barons

[edit]

Charles Matthews was, I suppose, technically correct in deleting Maclean Feudal Barons in Scotland and Maclean Life Peers from this article on Maclean baronets on the grounds that their inclusion was 'off-topic and unreferenced'.
However, I suggest that those listed are noteworthy and merit inclusion somewhere in Wikipedia. Should the article title be changed to include barons? Or should a separate article be written? Any volunteers? Shipsview (talk) 11:34, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Shipsview: I add a large amount of family history here, and have no objection to it as such. I don't know the background, but the barons might fit into Clan Maclean.
The articles about baronetcies are neglected in a fundamental way, and do need to be brought up to current standards. Charles Matthews (talk) 12:00, 13 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
