The MX Designation System

[edit]

The MX Designation System was introduced by the Experimental Engineering Section of the US Army Air Corps Materiel Division in 1941. The last MX number, MX-2276 was issued in 1954. Andreas Parsch is a dilligent reearcher and has compiled an unusually good web site which documents U.S. Military Aviation Designation Systems. http://designation-systems.net/usmilav/index.html

The Wikipedia is often much less than what it might be. The largest failing is a lack of documentation, particularly printed documentation which cannot go 404 in an instant. Mr. Parsch has a single site which met then need for documentation of this article. So I have used it to document this web page. Someone accessing this subject will find U.S. Military Aviation Designation Systems the doorway to a great deal of information on the subject.
