This vessel was built with German aid in a German shipyard, brought to Malawi in sections by sea to Nacala in Mozambique, then by rail and finally road to Monkey Bay where is was assembled and launched in the early 80's. I still have my official invitation from President Banda to the naming ceremony. It was powered by Cummins marine diesel engines. Why is it out of service?
