Proposed addition on Chandravaṃśa

[edit]

I added content about the Chandravaṃśa covering both Hindu and Jain traditions, including the lineage of Tirthankara Neminatha.

Sources for this content:

  • Jinasena, Harivamsha Purana 9th century text
  • Hemachandra, Trishashti-shalaka-purusha-charitra, c. 12th century CE.
  • Padmanabh Jaini. (2000). pp. 9–15.
  • Shah, Natubhai, Jainism: The World of Conquerors, 1998
  • Dundas, Paul. The Jains, 2nd edition, 2002

The previous edits were reverted with a note about consensus. I would like to discuss whether this sourced content can be included to reflect both Hindu and Jain perspectives. Feedback and suggestions are welcome. ~~ Starry Pine (talk) 11:08, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

We don't consider primary sources (like the first two) in such articles; read WP: PRIMARY; we accept modern scholarly work only! Regarding the last two sources, please share the brief biographies of the authors (academic credentials & all) as well as relevant quotes along with the respective page numbers; read WP:RS, WP:V. Thanks. Ekdalian (talk) 18:39, 22 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
