Article is very unclear, please revise

[edit]

The article is very vague or doesn't make sense in the explanation. Who calls line A and who calls line B? Which line is the one being tested and which one is the remote line? The caller receives a test tone from who? Based on the very limited information I've been able to find elsewhere is that a technician actually plays a test tone from a device, they don't "receive" a tone. Unfortunately that is pretty much all I was able to find. Please revise the article to explain this unambiguously without assuming prior knowledge. --Wykypydya (talk) 06:25, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Line Disconnected

[edit]

The example number for a loop line that "is certain to exist": (416) 981-0001 owned by Telus, no longer exists. Either that or it is not always working. I either a busy tone or a line disconnected beep, unsure of which. 2603:7081:1401:591:3C84:9487:7223:4CDD (talk) 17:57, 23 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

I have removed it because I can't find any online evidence of its existence and I can't call it either.
