- Each message is 228 bytes long, so the bandwidth consumed increases as a multiple of that.There is nothing in the LonTalk protocol that limits the communication speed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Back ache (talk • contribs) .
- It depends on which physical layer we're discussing. "Free topology" runs slower than, say 1.25 Mb/s RS-485.

- Standard LON network is 78kbps. Slow by today's standards, but quite robust. This seems like a useful addition to the article. Aaron Lawrence 01:49, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Doesn't this article need a "See also" section, mentioning other similar standards, and/or a "Categories" link, as in the CAN-bus article? Bolkhov (talk) 10:00, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
