Burgenland, a state containing the town of Locknhaus, formed part of the kingdom of Hungary from 1000 until soon after the end of WW1. There had, however, been a name change. Due to the influence of Magyar culture, the government in Budapest decreed in 1898 that its name be changed to Léka. Soon after the end of WW1, under the terms of the Treaty of Trianon, more than 70% of the area that had been the kingdom of Hungary since 1000 became part of Austria.
