Messaging around Liv-ex

[edit]

Fyi I am a Marketing Executive at Liv-ex. My linkedin is here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/grace-geldard-82a314238/

Liv-ex has recently updated our value proposition. Thank you for this source it explains well what we do and how our membership supports clients; however, a few amendments could help improve clarity and accuracy.

Some descriptions of Liv-ex (London International Vintners Exchange) characterise it as a marketplace or trading platform. However, the company describes itself as “the exchange for fine wine, market data and insight”. This distinction reflects its role in facilitating price discovery and providing market-wide data (transactional data, product data and list data) and market intelligence, rather than simply enabling transactions between buyers and sellers.

Descriptions that focus solely on buying and selling activity may also be incomplete. Liv-ex positions its offering as combining trading with market data and analysis derived from activity on the exchange, including bids (firm commitments to buy), offers (firm commitments to sell), and historical pricing information.

In addition, Liv-ex operates as an intermediary and does not hold stock or trade on its own account. This model is intended to maintain neutrality.

The platform also integrates trading, data, and post-trade services such as settlement, logistics, and authentication processes (including checks on provenance and condition), which are described as part of a single system rather than separate standalone services.

Also, as another request are we able to request a backlink to our website. We see that Wikepedia is commonly referenced by AI sources so it would be great if it could link back to our website.

Just flagging that the stats in the post should be checked for accuracy. I will take a look and follow up.

Automation updates

[edit]

I also have some further info that could be included re automation.

Liv-ex Automation enables members to streamline business processes by integrating pricing, trading, and product data directly into their own systems, reducing manual work and improving efficiency across workflows.

This is enabled through application programming interfaces (APIs), which allow Liv-ex’s systems to communicate directly with those of its members and transfer data without manual input. These integrations can be used to incorporate pricing data, product information, trading activity, and critic scores into merchants’ internal systems and workflows.

Liv-ex supports automation across key areas including trading, pricing data, and product data, and works with a range of third-party software providers and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems that integrate with its APIs. Examples include Bevica and Hweb, alongside other wine industry software platforms.

These integrations enable wine businesses to connect Liv-ex data and trading capabilities with their existing systems, supporting processes such as price discovery, inventory management, and e-commerce.

Absolutely terrible corporate slop article

[edit]

The complete corporate slop present in this article, the fact that the only sources it cites are from Liv-ex itself, and fact that HALF OF THE SECTION TITLES ARE EXTERNAL LINKS TO THE LIVEX WEBSITE?? Absolutely atrocious.

The worst part is the Marketing Executive making a post on the talk page talking about how we can better represent their company and their interests. It makes my blood boil at the very least.

No doubt this hasn't been addressed because no one cares about this company. However, I don't think articles like this belong on Wikipedia. I will be doing my best wrangle in this corporate overreach. In the event that my changes get reversed I will push this matter higher up.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Xuân ơi 44 (talkcontribs) 21:52, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
