mention limited use of dwave in non tech terms

[edit]

since wiki is supposed to be a general encylopedia, the discussion of dwave is far to technical. the discussion should state simply something like not useful for most computing problems, works only on certain problems 50.245.17.105 (talk) 15:59, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

That distinction is not important for this WP:STANDALONE list article.--ReyHahn (talk) 16:06, 17 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Old world Quantums

[edit]

Fujitsu, Japan; Chalmers, Sweden are examples of qC in other countries. Russia presumably has several, China aswell. 83.255.33.20 (talk) 00:20, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

China has lots: Xiaohong, Jiuzhang, and Zuchongzhi, etc. I'm not aware of any in Russia but I haven't looked specifically for them either. I'm not sure which systems you're referring to, specifically, but feel free to add them to the relevant table! - CRGreathouse (t | c) 16:01, 13 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Microsoft's claimed to have built Majorana qubits: unpublished research, too early to add to article

[edit]

As I also wrote elsewhere, I think it's inappropriate to include a claim based on no more than a press release. They haven't even published a preprint, much less a peer-reviewed article. The paper that is out does not claim to prove the the presence of Majoranas and as confirmed here there is no publication out that does. WP should not make itself part of a company's PR machine. Let's wait for the publication. --Qcomp (talk) 11:51, 20 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

I like to include things early, but without even a preprint that sounds crazy. Too early. - CRGreathouse (t | c) 14:10, 20 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

D-Wave claim may be overstated

[edit]

After looking over D-Wave's website, I can only find a claim for a "4400+ qubit" system (the Advantage2). That site says: "The following diagram shows an inside look at the Advantage2 system. The system is made up of different components including the company’s most advanced quantum processing unit (QPU) containing 4,400+ superconducting qubits,..." Thus, shouldn't the entries that exceed that be deleted as they have not yet been delivered and a new entry for Advantage2 showing 4400 qubits be displayed? I have made edits and provided citations in line with the above thoughts after nine days of no responses. Countercheck (talk) 18:33, 27 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
