Abe Sapien: The Haunted Boy

[edit]

I have this as a TPB, so it is definitely collected. I can look up the ISBN when I get home.12.53.10.226 (talk) 19:09, 21 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nevermind, I was thinking of "The Drowning". I am a crazy person.70.34.147.3 (talk) 07:03, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gen 13

[edit]

As far as I can tell, there is no cameo by Hellboy in Gen13: Road Trip. Perhaps someone confused it with the much earlier Gen13 #13a-13c arc that featured Hellboy as well as other comic book characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bone, Monkeyman & O'Brien, Madman, and Wolverine, and was collected as Gen13 ABC. --JFP (talk) 19:46, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's 'Hell On Earth' not '**** On Earth'

[edit]

For some reason in the 2011 section some prude has censored the word 'Hell' in the B.P.R.D. Hell On Earth titles — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.68.131.138 (talk) 01:59, 13 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

hellboy library

[edit]

there were two sections listing the same hellboy library editions. because it was redundant i removed one — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.245.160.158 (talk) 00:01, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Chronological going by date of publishing or after the story?

[edit]

I'm guessing that it's the first so I'm adding that as its ambiguous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.13.193.228 (talk) 10:48, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Trade paperbacks in chronological list?

[edit]

I just saw that older TPBs are in both the chronological list and in the list of collections. I would like to unify that - should I delete the TPBs from the chronological list or should I add the newer TPBs to the list as well? The rooster (talk) 14:55, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Include Colorist in chronological list?

[edit]

I also just saw that in the chronological list, sometimes Dave Stewart (who did the colors in almost all issues) is sometimes listet and sometimes isn't. For a better overwiew I would delete the colorist from the list - storywriter and artist should be sufficient. What's your opinion? The rooster (talk) 15:13, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Layout clean-up

[edit]

I'm thinking of doing a clean-up of the page over the next few days. The changes I intend to make will be:

Hellboy: The Chained Coffin and Others (TPB, August 1998, ISBN 9781569713495), includes "The Baba Yaga" by Mike Mignola.
...it would change to something like this...
"The Baba Yaga" by Mike Mignola, collected in Hellboy: The Chained Coffin and Others (TPB, August 1998, ISBN 9781569713495)
  • I'll entirely revise the "List of Hellboy Universe collections" section. I will split it into three sections, "Trade paperback collections", "Library editions", and "Omnibus editions". From there, each section will be divided by series. For ease of reading, I'll likely move all the information into tables.
  • I'm going to try to add references for each item on these lists. This is going to be agonizing.

Merging of lists from other Hellboy articles into this one

[edit]

As it was decided in the Deletion discussion for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense article, I will shortly begin to merge the Publication history section into the List of Hellboy Universe collections section of this article.

After that, I will likewise merge the "Publication history" sections of the Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Lobster Johnson articles into this section.

As this "Publication history" sections also contain lists of single issues, I will rename the section List of Hellboy Universe collections to "List of Hellboy Universe comic books and collections by series" The rooster (talk) 12:09, 31 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

I now merged all publication history lists of the articles Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense, Hellboy, Abe Sapien and Lobster Johnson into this article.
Remaining ToDos:
- Re-formatting the remaining sub-sections of "List of Hellboy Universe comic books and collections by series" into the table format
- Adding missing issues and collections The rooster (talk) 16:34, 8 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
I have now completely reworked the article and added all missing issues. The rooster (talk) 21:15, 18 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
BPRD is well known enough to have its separate article. It shouldn't be merged Rahammz (talk) 09:05, 1 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, missed your comment.
I agree, but there was a poll and it was decided to merge/delete it. Therefore, I merged the list with this one to preserve it. The rooster (talk) 18:12, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Vril Society

[edit]

A (wildly unlikely?) possibility for the concept of Vril, which played a significant role on the very long final story arc in B.R.P.D., relates to the Vril Society, a concept created/advocated by Edward Bulwer-Lyton (of "It was a dark and stormy night" fame) around the middle/end of the 19th C CE. Some books about that Society, and the many other books and publications written around and about it (cf. Madame Blavatsky and Theosophy, towards the beginning of the 20th C CE) may have been the basis for "vril." Or not. Just conjecture, which might be significantly incorrect, fwiw.
