Khabul Shah and Adil-Sultan

It looks like these two might have been confused with each other. See for example The Cambridge History of the Mongol Empire: "In the ensuing vacuum, Amīr Ḥusayn convened a solemn quriltai in 1364, enthroning himself once more as the amīr of Transoxania. This time he appointed a puppet khan, Kābul Shāh son of Dorji son of Eljigidei Khan, who had been living as a dervish and was famed for his poetry, only to execute him less than a year and a half afterwards in favor of ʿĀdil Sultan (r. 1366–1370), probably a son of Muḥammad Pulad Khan, who survived as khan for the next five years." There was only one source cited in both of those articles. I had a look at The Rise and Rule of Tamerlane (1989), where there was no page number included, but I could not find any mention of those two. I only saw a reference to puppet khans (in 1364 and 1366 specifically, not 1363) but no names. I checked a couple other sources and they have Adil-Sultan come after Khabul Shah, though the exact dates are not the same. Mellk (talk) 22:35, 6 June 2025 (UTC)
