Serial number

[edit]

The actual Linux trademark SN appears to be U.S. Serial Number 74560867. The number listed here is not even a valid serial number. Serial numbers must be eight digits. The number listed appears to be the U.S. Registration Number.

Official relationship to the Linux Foundation?

[edit]

Is there a citation for exactly how the LMI and the LF are related? According to http://www.linux-foundation.org/en/About , the LF "manages the Linux trademark", and this then links to http://www.linuxmark.org , a site which is outfitted in the LF trade dress and copyrighted by the LF. This all implies very strongly that LMI is part of the Linux Foundation.

On http://www.linuxmark.org/about.php , it says that LMI does what it does "in affiliation with the Linux Foundation", which leaves open the possibility that the two are separate entities.

Is there a definitive statement somewhere, perhaps a press release announcing the LMI getting sucked into the LF mothership?--NapoliRoma (talk) 20:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
