Work done

[edit]

Hi all, I have extended this article from the note that it was, but it seems there is still quite a bit more that can be added. Also more references could be useful too--if somebody wants to take up that mantle?

Images and maps I have added. But for some odd reason they won't display where I have places them, instead they all ended up at the end..odd? Has anybody an explanation or a way to solve? Would be nice at least to incorporate the map into the article instead of just at the end.

Anyway--Cheers (MrNiceGuy1113 (talk) 03:03, 18 September 2012 (UTC))Reply

Legio XI existed until the 420's according to the Notitia Dignitatum, stationed in Durostorum as a Legio Comitatenses unit and in Spain/Gaul as a Legio Palatina unit (Legio Undecimani). Their shield pattern can be found here: Eastern: http://www.ne.jp/asahi/luke/ueda-sarson/MagisterPraesentalis2.html Western: http://www.ne.jp/asahi/luke/ueda-sarson/ComesHispenias.html MMFA (talk) 23:07, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate article?

[edit]

This article seems to duplicate a lot of the material in Legio XI Claudia, & there are hints in this article that it is that unit. Should these articles be merged? Or were there two Legiones XI -- many legions shared the same ordinal number for various reasons -- & confusion by contributors make these duplicates? -- llywrch (talk) 18:44, 16 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yeah it is a duplicate. A request to merge needs to be put in. MMFA (talk) 19:48, 16 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Can someone change it to a redirect to Legio XI Claudia? MMFA (talk) 20:31, 16 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
