Merge with Lapland

Oppose. I just created this article by moving content from Lapland. This article is about a historical province in Sweden, while Lapland is about the land of the Sami. Also, there exists similar articles to this such as Laponia (historical province). Hopefully someone can extend this article.Labongo 15:11, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Oppose too. Lappmarken was an administrative concept consisting of 5-6 Lappmarks, and it covered an area wider than the word "Lappland" has ever been used for. --Drieakko 08:46, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

I propose merging Laponia (historical province) to Lappmarken. The historical province is based on Lappmarken and their borders are identical. The Laponia article is also unsourced. While the titles suggest slightly different emphases, the topic of both articles is "Swedish Lapland (including Finland) until 1809", and all relevant information can be discussed under either title. 84.251.164.143 (talk) 11:29, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
