Request to update “Not-for-profit initiatives” section

Hello. I work for Laerdal Global Health, so I have a conflict of interest and will not make this substantive edit directly. I would appreciate an independent editor reviewing the following proposed update to the “Not-for-profit initiatives” section.

Requested change: Replace the existing paragraph beginning “Laerdal Global Health (LGH) is the not-for-profit sister company established in 2010 to help save the lives of mothers and newborns in low-income countries” with the following:

Laerdal Global Health is a not-for-profit company focused on strengthening health systems in countries with high mortality, with work spanning maternal and newborn health and other time-critical emergencies. It develops training and clinical solutions with partners to support health workers in delivering care in low-resource settings and works with governments and international and local organizations to support implementation at scale.[1]

Its collaborations have included the American Academy of Pediatrics on the Helping Babies Survive programs,[2] Jhpiego and other partners on maternal health training,[3] and the Global Financing Facility on initiatives to scale maternal and newborn health innovations.[4]

LGH has also supported the Safer Births Bundle of Care, a maternal and newborn health program evaluated across 30 health facilities in Tanzania. A 2025 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine reported reductions in perinatal mortality and newborn deaths within the first 24 hours following implementation of the program.[5]

In emergency care, LGH has worked with the WHO Foundation and World Health Organization to support the expansion of WHO's Basic Emergency Care training.[1]
