The section opens stating "her ashes" were buried in Westminster Abbey "mingled with those of her friend". Cremation wasn't legal until the late 19th century and it was only in the 20th that the Abbey required anyone buried in there to have been cremated first. The same kind of words are stated in the quoted epitaph but that is merely metaphorical poetic language.
